ABOUT
Weixi Zhang works in performance, installation, and image-making, intervening in spaces where she never fully belongs. She constructs situations and sets them against forces she cannot script: pain, ICE raids, ocean waves, stranger's stares. Sometimes this means banging her head on a pillow, bartering on the street, or leading a tour of an underground creek. She studies the remains after contingency: traces, sound, bodily reactions, as an inquiry into the transformation and erosion of meaning.
